Cab Range Concept sketches 1989.09

During the latter part of 1998, SHADO, in conjunction with CAD Ltd, prepared a design study for a ‘conventional cab’ truck called ‘Bison’, for Ashok Leyland of India.

The initial themes showed the capability of producing a light, mid and heavy weight truck range, using a modular cab system of shared components. 

By the middle of 1999, from the sketches, and the subsequent development of the design ‘on screen’ using CATIA software, a full size prototype was built for a management review of the base cab frame, which could meet the needs of India’s variety of coachbuilders & bodymakers.
