With today's skies filled with commercial traffic, the MP520 flight training device was designed to enable students to develop their skills in aeronautical engineering and allow new pilots to achieve a basic level of competency before taking to the air.

From the first design theme sketches in January 1995, the machine was styled to look as much like a real aircraft as possible.

With the ‘Hawk’ being a well recognised jet trainer, the facsimile exterior and interior were modelled, and the first prototype was ready by May.

Since then, Chris Neal and his team have built 8 machines which are the pride of the likes of City, Kingston and Coventry Universities.
