Traditionally the sedan has been the most conservative of all of the car types.

Admittedly during the late 50’s and 60’s, the US sedans excelled in their opulence.

Today, everyone is so cautious to treat this market sector with ‘kid gloves’. But, it is a shrinking sector, as people move onto other adventurous model types.

So now would be an ideal time for a revival of the sedan, especially as the new markets still favour the sedan, as a premium style.

In 1985, when asked to envisage how a classic sedan, the Citroen DS would look, if designed ‘today’, the resulting sketches, show that it would not look out of place on today’s streets.

More recently the sketch pad has included: Reinterpretations of the solid rectilinear themes of the 1980’s US.

Then there are the gentle curves of the 40’s style sedans, with modern graphical window and rooflines.

Finally the 4 door Coupe style, which brings the sensuality of the lowered roofline, into a more flowing sedan profile.
