Ever since the Mini became a classless statement of City Chic in the 1960’s, there have always been charming small cars zipping around the streets.

Too often however, the small car is seen by some, as a cheap and nasty alternative to a ‘real car’.

The best way to prove that attitude wrong is to create small cars with large hearts.

In 1987 and 91, the ‘Mercyclobenz’ sketches pre-empted the Smart by several years, and showed how a 2 seat city coupe could be developed.

The other 2 designs from 2000, were inspired by a diminutive version of Cinderella’s coach/Bubble car, and a ‘Pioneer’s covered wagon’.
